In 2017 a little orphan boy from China called Huxley found light at the end of the tunnel when he was adopted by the Stauffer family in America. Huxley is diagnosed with autism and other brain damage disorders. When the Stauffer family took him in, they made a public and bold statement that they were aware of the difficulty of taking care of a handicapped child and that they did not need to be lectured by the loud and concerned voices in their audience, including concerned medical professionals who warned of the implications of adopting a handicapped child out of the blue.
In an almost deliberate preparation to justify their re-adoption of Huxley, the Stauffers began filming Huxley's tantrums and in a distressing video Myka Satuffer is seen mocking Huxley while she is duct taping his fingers to prevent him frome excessive sucking of his thumbs which was a defense mechanism from the distress he was experiencing. Furthermore she attached a Barbie doll plastic hand on his duct taped hand.
|The Stauffers have disgraced the Asian community, who are currently mourning the start of a devastating pandemic and a rise of hate crime against them. They have disgraced the autism community sending a loud message that children with disabilities and handicaps are not worthy of patience and unconditional love. And finally they have disgraced children who already suffer from abandonment, in adoption centres and foster care, that they can be given a short taste of hope and family and then be discarded by that family once they regret adopting a disabled child.
This case has stirred outrage amongst the adoption community as well as thousands of others.
We're asking for the following actions to seek justice for Huxley: First we ask the Delaware police to ensure his safety and ensure that his re-adoption is monitored, Secondly, we ask companies currently affiliated with the Stauffers to boycott them and finally we ask Youtube to remove all monetisation of the Stauffer family's Youtube channel.
